Do you have a side business that you have had for a while? If so, I'd like to hear from you. It has been encouraging to follow other people who are committed to their side gigs while holding down a day job. I've been asked "why don't you do this for a living?" and I had always thought that it would ruin the joy of doing it if I had to depend on it for a living. Now I'm starting to see that really that's a mind-set. Really, finding joy in the work that you do is about your attitude, whether it's your day job or a sideline, right?
I've been lucky that I have a background in business, so I already know how to do the accounting part, but I'm no salesperson and I wasn't a marketing major! Thankfully blogging and social media are useful tools. And I am learning that old-fashioned "word of mouth" really works. And networking, like the actual human kind. Anyway, if you have a side business, I'd love to hear your story. I'm new to the entrepreneurial world, so any advice is appreciated! So far so good, people!
