In a couple of my past posts, I've mentioned my mom and her influence on my art work. I did a portrait of each of my parents a few years ago, and this is the one of Dot.
If you know my mother, you may know that she is one of those people who has always been very critical of pictures of herself. So I knew when I was planning her portrait to make sure she approved of the photos I was using, the dress she was wearing, and her hair! She's been a brunette, a platinum blonde, and silver, so I asked her what her preference was..."BLONDE" of course!!
She loves both portraits and has them hanging in her bedroom, which really means a lot to me. Her home is filled with her own artwork and pieces by other professional artists, so I feel a little unworthy! This is a snapshot of the portrait that is professionally framed under glass, so there is some glare.
Thank you for the visit and have a great week!
Based in Birmingham, AL, I love creating portraits in charcoal and pastels. Join me on my creative journey, inspired by the people, places, and pets I've met along the way!
