No celebrity portrait collection can be complete without Elvis. Final day of the 30-day challenge. Whew! It was definitely challenging but a lot of fun and I learned a lot. I accomplished some of my goals, which is satisfying. I hope you enjoyed my parade of stars, athletes, and children. Thanks for following along with me!
Day 29 is this beauty from days gone by. So glamorous! She is probably more famous for her role in Breakfast at Tiffany's but I loved her best in My Fair Lady.
One more day in the 30-Day challenge. Whew! Thanks for the look and I hope you've been enjoying my parade of stars. :)
I've done Matthew before, so I was dismayed at how long it took to capture him. Still not happy with it, but this is a 30-day challenge, so I'm going with it. Ugh. Sometimes the likeness appears before me as I draw which makes it so much fun! I have no idea why he was more difficult. If I ever meet him, I'll have to tell him not to be so stubborn. :D
This Australian award-winning actress is also a devoted wife and mother. Day 27 of the 30-day challenge. This is quite an experience and definitely a challenge but worth it. Thanks for checking it out! See you tomorrow.
The beautiful and talented actress is day 26 in the 30-day challenge. Whew, I'm tired. Four more days...coming round the home stretch. Woo Hoo! I'll be sleeping good in October. :D
Day 25 is by request from my friend Linda Kington. Tough day studying photos of George, but that's the sacrifice we make for our friends. :)
Day 24 is the beautiful Emma Stone. Loved her in The Help. Thanks for checking in and see you tomorrow. :)
Spent the morning with Denzel today. Great guy! Another one is in the books...whew! Keep going, Becky...one more week.
Another favorite for day 22. I like her because she seems grounded despite her fame and money. Seems like she would be a good friend.
Today is day 21 of the 30-day challenge, and I'm beginning a new series of celebrity portraits. My first is my number one favorite actor, Tom Hanks. I just hope I can do him justice!
Rounding out the lineup with a Brady stare-down.
I had a wonderful time getting to know these excellent athletes. If you've been following along, I hope you have enjoyed it! I'm starting a new series tomorrow to complete the 30-day challenge!
This golfer is known for his left-handed swing, even though he is otherwise right-handed. Phil is my favorite professional golfer because he seems like a genuinely nice person.
Ah, Rafa! This left-hander has won 16 Grand Slam singles titles. He's the only male player in tennis history to win one Grand Slam and at least one Masters 1000 title for ten consecutive years 2005-2014.
These athletes are amazing...
This five-time World Series champion played 20 seasons for the New York Yankees. I really like Jeter because he's a respected leader and regarded as a consummate professional.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying my lineup of fine athletes. See you tomorrow!
This golf pro is my athlete for Day 16 in the 30-Day Challenge. In 2012, at age 23, he became the youngest player to reach $10 million in career earnings on the PGA Tour.
Thanks for the visit...see you tomorrow!
Yes, a Bama player. What?? This quarterback is one of the best in college football. I like to watch him because he is cool as a cucumber. Plus my husband went to Alabama, so I'm giving him equal time. If you are not from the South, Auburn and Alabama are huge rivals and it takes a special commitment to be a married to one-another. :)
Thanks for the look, and I'll see you tomorrow!
For Day 14 of the 30-day challenge, my athlete is the Russian tennis champion, Maria Sharapova. Since she turned pro in 2001, she has won 35 singles titles and five Grand Slam titles. Pretty impressive!
Day 13 is Craig Kimbrel in his unusual windup stance. He used to pitch for the Atlanta Braves and is now the closing pitcher for the Red Sox.
Almost to the half-way point of Leslie Saeta's 30-day challenge! It is definitely a challenge, but worth it. On to my next awesome athlete.
I bet you thought all my athletes would be Auburn players! Nope, Day 12 is Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. Possibly the greatest shooter in NBA history.
Thanks for visiting. Check daily during the month of September for more great athletes during the 30-in-30 Challenge!
Today is day 11 for Leslie Saeta's 30-Day Challenge. I am starting a series of sports sketches and illustrations today, the first being Auburn's very own Bo Jackson. Greatest athlete ever. Bo knows....art? 🤔
"Brittany" 8x10 Graphite
Day 10's Brittany is the daughter of a friend of mine. Brittany is grown up and a mommy herself now! Day ten means I'm one-third of the way done with the 30-day challenge. Yay! Today is the last of the children's portraits as I am moving on to a new series tomorrow.
I write this as we all watch Hurricane Irma devastate the whole state of Florida. I pray everyone survives and remains safe. Many months and years of recovery await the residents of Florida as they rebuild their communities.
"Sarah" 8x10 Graphite
Cute as a bug in her ribbons and sweet little dress that her mommy made. My niece, Sarah, is a grown woman now! How is that possible? Seems like just yesterday these little once were playing outside and going to preschool.
Thanks for checking in...week 2 of the 30-day challenge is underway!
"Daniel" 8x10 Graphite
This little bugger is up to something! Daniel is my nephew, now all grown up and married. I love going through old photos of these little cuties. Never get tired of it!
Thanks for checking in. I'm enjoying participating in Leslie Saeta's 30 in 30 Challenge. Here is a link to the blog if you are interested in seeing any of the others...there's hundreds of us! http://www.saetastudio.com/30-in-30-blog
"Nicole" 8x10 Graphite
Day 7 is Nicole, sister to day 6's Grant, enjoying a day of dress-up with her mommy. Nicole is another young life that ended tragically when she was killed in 2013 by a drunk driver. She was a beautiful girl inside and out and loved her family more than anything. Nicole's parents and brother founded an organization in 2014 to raise awareness and promote the arts. "Grant" 8x10 Graphite
This little fella is my husband's son, Grant, who is 30 years old now! Good grief they grow up so darn fast. And they go through so many changes...but they will always be our sweet sons and daughters.
Thank you for checking in - I'm diligently working on my 30 drawings. They don't call it a "challenge" for nothing!
Based in Birmingham, AL, I love creating portraits in charcoal and pastels. Join me on my creative journey, inspired by the people, places, and pets I've met along the way!
