This was a portrait that my friend Tina commissioned as a gift for her friend who lost their Springer Spaniel, Tommy. Tommy was a 13-year-old beloved member of their family AND happened to be an Instagram celebrity! Check out his Instagram herewww.instagram.com/tommy_the_terrific/ and how can you not fall in love with him!! I feel for their humans having lost their loyal family pet! This 8 x 10 charcoal and pastel is on it's way to California now. I hope they love it!
Can I tell you how much fun this 16 x 20 pastel painting of these two Springer Spaniels on the beach was!! My very dear friend from childhood, Tina, asked me to do this of her two dogs from a snapshot she said she loved. I was so excited but a little nervous. I just took this to the frame shop on Thursday and I am delivering this next Saturday! Woo Hoo!! I plan to do more of these "Dogs on the Beach" paintings in 2019.
I was commissioned by my friend Cheryl to do this Boston Terrier drawing for a Christmas present. This 8 x 10 drawing was done in charcoal on toned paper. The fact that this dog was black and white helped a lot because I wasn't using pastels. I am really loving the General charcoal pencils I recently purchased - well worth the money! Cheryl was pleased and she said her friend liked it a lot, so I'm very happy about that!
Based in Birmingham, AL, I love creating portraits in charcoal and pastels. Join me on my creative journey, inspired by the people, places, and pets I've met along the way!
